St. John's Memorial Episcopal Church

St. John¹s Memorial Episcopal Church is an historic landmark in the beautiful Rondout Valley between the Shawangunk Mountains to the east and the Catskills to the west. Designed and built in the 1870¹s by local shipbuilders, St. John¹s chestnut interior and beautiful stained glass windows provide a contemplative, restful setting for prayer and worship. The magnificient pipe organ is currently being restored to its original 1874 design. The organ is one of only a handfull of similar instruments from its era. St. Paul¹s Chapel (located adjacent to the main church), which was originally built in 1860, has been recently reconstructed.

The Rev. Canon Jeffrey M. Golliher is Priest in charge of St. John¹s Memorial Church. Canon Golliher also represents the global Anglican Communion at the United Nations on issues of the environment and sustainable development. He can be reached by cell phone at 845-532-4904 and at the church 845-647-7084.

St. John's is located on 40 Market Street in Ellenville, New York, one block east of Route 209 (see map for detailed travel information). The Holy Eucharist is celebrated on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am, with coffee hour after the service. Sunday School is held at 10:00 am in the undercroft.
